65 Pregnancy HCG Test Strips
Pregnancy Test Strips measure the levels of the pregnancy hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in your urine. This hormone is produced by the cells of the embryo that will later form the placenta. The level of HCG starts to increase from its basal level of less than 5 mIU/mL directly after implantation, and doubles about each 48 hours during the first weeks of pregnancy.
How Does It Work?
When the strip is immersed into the urine, capillary action carries the specimen to migrate along the membrane. When HCG reaches the Test Zone region of the membrane, it will form a colored line. Absence of this colored line suggests a negative result. To serve as a procedure control, a colored line will appear at the Control Zone, if the test has been performed properly.
